Musa the Mouse

Review:

Children's stories are often beautiful because they're simple. Fort Worth writer and storyteller John Owhonda has written a book that tells such a beautifully simple story.

Musa the Mouse...shares the journey of a meager mouse in Africa. Musa sets out to win the hand of the beautiful Antelopa, but he must compete with a kingdom full of suitors who all want to win her over. On his way to see Antelopa, he encounters his competitors, who tell him he has no chance with her.

They try to destroy his confidence by pointing out their superior qualities. In the end, though, Antelopa chooses to marry Musa, even though all the other animals are stronger and more beautiful. Though Musa isn't powerful, Antelopa prefers him because he is humble and sincere.
